You are Adam Walsh, aged 28, and you’ve booked this video consultation to discuss a personal health concern.

You have noticed blood in your semen during ejaculation. This has happened four times over the past month. The blood is bright red and mixed with semen. You’re worried about what might be causing it.

You take ibuprofen for migraines, and you sometimes use it preventatively, even when you’re not in pain

You’ve already had a full STI screen (gonorrhoea, chlamydia, syphilis, and HIV) and a urine culture done at a sexual health clinic — all of which came back negative

The clinic advised you to see your GP if the bleeding continued.

Social History: Non-smoker, no alcohol use. You live with your girlfriend of 3 years, and you have no other sexual partners. You work as a tech developer 

Idea: A pharmacist suggested an STI screen, which you’ve already done, and it came back negative. You are suspecting if this could be cancer 

Concern: You’re worried this could be cancer

Expectation: You want the doctor to help identify what’s causing the bleeding.
